Give up your calculator completely. Practice mental math... a lot. Multiplying two-digit numbers is really easier to do in your head rather than on paper or even calculator. Over time, your brain will develop amazing calculator-like abilities which will amaze your friends!

Just try practising a few vedic maths sutras (tricks).I guess u'll probably fnd a site on Vedic Maths if u go google. It's reallly cool if u know some of the tricks .
Here's one which works in the squaring of numbers that end with five,
15 X 15 = 1 X2 25
225
25 X 25= 2X3 25
625
35 X 35 =3X4 25
1225
45 X 45= 4 X 5 25
2025
55 X 55 = 5 X 6 25
3025
Check these answers with a calculator if u want to check if the answers are right!

Do the multiplication tables, 1 to 12, over and over in your head, it is a brain exercise much like you would work a muscle.
I have done the same in my occupation as a machinist.
