Im almost 44 and have been dating a long time but im in despair because I cant keep the girls I fancy but cant change who I fancy and learn to love somebody i dont fancy. Im not a perfectionist either. Time is running out as im getting older and dont want to be single for ever. Am I stuck? Can I change who im naturally attracted to?

Look at personality as well as looks you never know...........although don't go for any one you find physical repulsive because that won't ever change.

I think there does have to be some mutual attraction for a relationship to work. However I think its more important to have trust, understanding, companionship, love.....and when you find that special person you won't want to let them go! Maybe you are meeting this people in the wrong environment.?.....or why not try being friends with them first and then letting things go from there?. It would make a change from going for the 'lust' factor straight away! Good Luck!

I have the same problem with my x. i never found her that attractive but she put on alot of weight and has bucked teeth we had a kiddie together but arwe sex life just dreid up i love her but not in a sexual way so we broke up as im 23 and need an active sex live but i still spend most of my time round hers doing family things which i enjoy so much it does me head in sometimes thinkin should i get back with her? you need to clear your mind and think what you really want and it is only sex and at your age i doubt your havbe that much sex with a lady of the same age no offence and you dont want to spend the rest of your life on your own and be a lonely old man. weigh it up-
sex or, love companionship company family soul mate dinners etc

I dont believe you could be overally happy with someone you do not fancy. Join a dating agency and dont settle for second best. Life is too short.

No you cant change who you are attracted to, but stop being desperate. 44 is not that old i met my man when he was in his mid forties, it was the last thing either of us expected but its the best thing!!!

try to look beyond the shell we inhabit!
if you look deeper into a person you can fall in love with the essence of that person. you don't have to fancy them have you seen the film "Shallow Hal"? perhaps you should rent it out
