Muslims only! Who's stepping up to the plate?

Question

Any other faith would have their leaders out in force condemning the murder of innocents by suicide bombers and such. Where are your clergy? Does jihad require the blood of women and children? What does it take to declare a jihad anyway? If someone over-cooked my steak could I declare a jihad and blow that sob up? Cause I really like my steak medium rare.

Lots of people here talk about jihad, but they do not even know what jihad is. They take for granted whatever others say, the media of the west and criminals who misuse islamic teachings rather than go check the word and how it is practice by themselves.

Religious scholar and professor Dr. John Kaltner, who authored the 1999 book Ishmael Instructs Isaac: An Introduction to the Qur'an for Bible Readers, said he was troubled by “the manner in which many non-Muslims understand the term jihad.” The word, he said, “comes from an Arabic root whose primary sense refers to the act of putting forth effort to achieve some objective, [such as] the effort each person must exert in order to live his or her life as a good Muslim and avoid the temptation to sin.” The only circumstances under which jihad permits open warfare, he said, is “when it is a defensive response to an attack.” This definition was echoed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ depiction of jihad as “the struggle against evil inclinations within oneself [and] the quality of life in society” – a struggle that may be taken to the battlefield solely for purposes of self-defense.

Muslims are commanded in the Qur'an to "enjoin good and forbid evil" (9:112). The word Jihad stems from the Arabic root word J-H-D, which means "strive." Other words derived from this root include "effort," "labor," and "fatigue." Essentially Jihad is an effort to practice religion in the face of oppression and persecution. The effort may come in fighting the evil in your own heart, or in standing up to a dictator. Military effort is included as an option, but as a last resort and not "to spread Islam by the sword" as the stereotype would have you believe.

Jihad is declared when someone trangresses the limits,such as what USA and Israel are doing to the muslim world.
Did you hear of suicide bombers in Sweden or Iceland or Estonia? I bet you didnt.
The innocents who died in these suicide bombings are the responsibility of their leaders who lead this war against muslims.
There are muslim innocents dying everyday on the hands of USA and Israel too. Why dont you condemn that?

My point is this: a holy war always looks stupid to everyone but those leading it. Faith of any type can make ordinarily reasonable people do dumbass, inhuman things.

There are three types of Jihad:
1.Jihad against oneself: It doesn't mean to fight your own self it means to to fight the evil inside yourself. One must fight the satan inside his soul and avoid all evil.
2.Jihad with wealth: It doesn't mean to fight money and wealth. It means to help the needy and the poor with your wealth and money.
3.Jihad against Evil: Everyone has a right to defend himself from evil invaders so this Jihad means to fight the evil it does'nt mean to fight innocent.
people nowadays are so angry at the terrorists they are taking it out on Islam and Muslims when neither of them have anything to do with them they should take their anger out on those particular Muslims who are evil not the religion not Muslims.
Now having said that have you ever wondered why is the US so much worried about security issues? The US is reaping what it sowed. The US wants Israel to keep weapons of mass destruction but not N.Korea Iran or anyone else its attitude is always biased and has double standards. Its no wonder everyone hates the US. I have come across a lot of Americans even on Yahoo Answers they always offend and abuse Muslims for no reason and I really get disappointed. People think Osama is representing Islam but actually he's not No one may judge or know a religion before discovering about its true meaning. All u people r just brainwashed! don't u c Wat they do with the poor Palestinians?Ever wonder who gets killed everyday for no reason? and recently they attacked and killed hundreds of Innocent Lebanese for no reason and ur government still backed Israel. At least the US should have been neutral in this case but Ur thoughts are totally biased against Muslims Ur not realistic. A single or few people are not representing Islam. The Qur'an is fully representing Islam. Everyone hate the US because of ur Pharaoh Presidents policies He has labeled Muslims as terrorists. Ur media is creating more hatred. You misunderstand the word “jehad”

Jehad is not to murder. Jehad is to work hard to develop your life and community.
When you go to school this is Jehad
When you work for your life this is Jehad
When you create a family and take care of your kids this is Jehad
When you defeat for your land against enemies this is Jehad.
Doing the needful to kick Americans out from Mideast and Iraq this is Jehad

Murdering innocents is not Jehad
9/11 was not Jehad

According to Islam Christians and Jews are 'people of the Book'. They are considered decieved and may be allowed to live. They are to be taxed heavily because of their unbelief. The Koran says Jesus didn't die on the cross and that a double was killed. Only a Muslim who supports Holy war in some way will go to Heaven. They don't have to kill necassarily, but they must contribute or they will be reserved the worst punishments in Hell.
