I am going to chance a guess that you are in or nearing your teens.... shyness and fear of rejection are completely normal.
You have a couple choices...
1. Work up your nerve.... she might like you as much as you do her but might be shy/nervous as well.
2. You could be more secretive.... drop a note in her locker/desk/etc that says she has a secret admirer and that if she wants to know who it is to meet you at
Either way the only way to know whether she likes you is to let her know you like her somehow.... rejection happens even to the most popular/cute people in the world. You will run into it occasionally, but you will also find that alot of people DO like you as much as you'd hoped. :)

If you don't really know her, try to get to know her a little and then ask her, it'll be easier because you'll have an idea of what she'll like. If you do know her, just ask. Ask her to the movies, or miniature golf, or driving go-karts. Make it a non-romantic invite at first. Be calm, and if she turns you down, don't make a big deal out of it, just brush yourself off and ask again.
