Most people consider tattoos and piercings to be the extent of body modification. But some also consider it to be anything from cutting your hair to shaving/waxing to even braiding your hair (the latter of which is considered a sin in the Bible according to Paul).

What is your personal take on this subject?

Anything you do to your body that can have a negative effect on the temple of the soul or essence of your being is wrong. A tattoo is not mutilation, it can be very artistic. Piercing the body is just another fad that will pass in x number of years.

However, drugs, being an alcoholic, smoking, obesity, and living "on the edge" will take its toll on the body and shorten your life. I speak from experience.

At 52, after 22 years smoking I have end stage COPD. Think hard about what you do TODAY and the effects it will have on you 20 years down the road.

I don't have tattoos or piercings of any kind. I don't dye my hair (though I do have it cut). So, I do the minimum modifications to my body. But it's just because I don't see the point of doing otherwise. Not because I think it's wrong.

I think it's fine. I'm not all that cool with elective plastic surgery (meaning, a boob job as opposed to someone who's been in an accident having reconstructive surgery, or a correction of a deformity), but simple modifications as you put up are fine, and an expression of a person.

I agree, to a measure. On a few humans, tattoos and piercings seem terrible, on the whole whilst they are garishly intrusive or simply poorly performed. People who seem like they fell right into a dumpster stuffed with sharp gadgets, just about. If it is performed good, despite the fact that, is not only there as a present day declaration, and now not excessive, I can uncover it very wonderful.

God doesnt like vanity and if you do those things its because of vanity. My personal opinion. I don't cut or do anything to my hair but I do shave my legs and pluck eyebrows. Women still have to take care of themselves.

i think it is wrong just as i think it is wrong to cut and braid your hair because it is changing your image. it's changing the way that God made you. Yes the bible does say that jesus looks at our hearts not our outward appearence, but wouldn't you want to make him happy.
