This is easy. Lock your cat out of your bedroom at night. I'm not surprised your cat didn't want to come home tho, it sounds like it doesn't get a whole lot of love & attention that it needs at your house. Get 3 bells for the cats collar so it can't sneak up on the birds.

You hit because you have seen hitting. Try to be different than people who hit.

When your cat does something you think is bad, stop and think before you do anything. Immediately remind yourself of the times you are petting him and he is purring and loving you. If you hit him more, he will stop coming to you to be petted.

At the times you're angry with him, walk away and think of how it is when you are petting him. Then go get him and teach him that he can always come to you and never be hit.

After some time, he will learn to trust you. Nothing feels is so great as when someone trusts you and loves you!

ps and remember this: cats are meant to get birds and mice and small animals, so when he brings it to you, he is showing you what a good hunter he is.Throw away the animal he got and then praise him.

You must remember that your cat is a CAT and will do cat things, like catch birds. Now, you are, I presume, a HUMAN. As a human, you have a greater capacity to understand and to control yourself than your cat, who is mostly driven by instinct. Your cat does not understand that killing birds upsets you. In fact, the cat may have been hunting the bird so he can give it as a gift to you - cats do that. Its their way of saying, "I love you."
So, how can you say you don't love your cat?

Cats love to cuddle .. there is nothing that means more to them then to lay on the end of your bed .. why are you so cruel ? Hitting a cat does not teach them but makes them fearful of you ...

Bringing home the catch was his way of trying to feed you ..They bring home their prizes to share .. sometimes it gross but if you had any heart for the animal you would have thanked it and told him no more ... his eating his catch infront of you is natural .. you didnt have to watch or beat him for it ..
( maybe so you would stop beating him ) all he knows is your mad he doesn't understand why ...

If you have any sort of decency about you ..you will find that poor little creature a home with someone who will love it and NOT beat it like you do ...

I wish you all the best in your quest of growing up ...

I would seriously suggest you find another home for your cat - I would suggest that you are not really capable of understanding and caring for your cat. Perhaps at a later date, when you are more able to understand and care for your pet, you can get another one. I don't see any reason to cause your cat to suffer simply because you are not willing or can't understand it's wants and needs. Do the cat a favor - find it a loving home.

Cats have a set mind of their own. The are not out to please anyone like a dog does nor do they give a goofy grin and wag their tail looking to play games or go for a walk.

A cat just wants to sit beside you on their terms not yours. This is the way the cat mentality is like and has always been that way.

Maybe another family can adopt him if he's a problem, but otherwise try to love him, put him in a different room while you sleep.

My cat bites my toes while I sleep. I hate that. So I brush her off my bed over and over again until she gets the message. (she's one yr old still a kitten)

When he brought you the bird, it was a gift from him to you. Animals just look at other animals as food, so don't be mad at him. Also it is just their nature to want to prowl around at night, so here again, don't be mad over something is just his nature. He is only a cat, and not a person.

i only understood a bit of what you said ..but i think from the info you gave you should get rid of the cat..let someone else take care of it..that has patients..that won't hate it..remember cats aren't humans ..you must treat them good never hit them
