Pedophilia hurts no one? why does the bible say it's wrong. Pedophilia simply means an attraction to children, it's neurological and probably genetic. No one chooses to be a pedophile, God made him that way!
open your mind, you close minded ignorant biggots!

And saying "it's just wrong" is stupid, you must have a reason to say something is wrong, not just faith and random beliefs.

I don't know much about the Bible or scripture but I guess the determination that pedophilia is wrong is mostly faith-based. In the "real" world pedophilia is sexual interest in adolescents and molestation is the act of preying on those adolescents. They are basically one in the same because almost all pedophiles become molesters.

I disagree that pedophilia hurts no one. 1. It hurts the person who suffers from this as they probably will never be satisfied with an adult relationship and will eventually prey on children. AND 2. The defenseless kids who are subjected to people like this who usually become life long victims to these traumatic experiences. And later they may not be able to form normal intimate relations.

Neurological...genetic - one doesn't know, there is not enough scientific data to support any case. Gee some would say it is purely environmental (nurture) - You've read the recent headlines.

After reading some of these comments I have to say: Look, you Christians do not have a monopoly on good deeds, or being good, or disapproving of pedophilia or anything else. I'm tired of Christians always being up on their moral high horses. I am not a Christian and I don't practice any other religion. I abhor pedophilia just like any person in her right mind would. I also have a healthy sense of right vs wrong and I do many good deeds for my fellow man, thank you very much. Anyone who practices pedophilia, I don't care if they're Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Muslim, Christian or Athiest, should be prosecuted under the full extent of the law and punished accordingly. As for the asker, you are obviously a pervert or you wouldn't have that stupid avatar that looks like a penis only much smaller. Get a life and get your nads and your stupid questions out of my face.

There is nothing right about introducing a child to something that they are not physically or mentally ready to deal with. While it may be a neurological problem, that does not make it all right. Serial killers and sociopaths have neurological problems, but we don't justify their killing or criminal sprees. We find them abhorent. I also think that it's not a genetic problem. It's a neurological one if anything, passed down through the generations through environmental issues (sexual abuse as children) rather than DNA.

Granted, the age for acceptable physical relations among humans used to start, in some societies, at the time of puberty for both genders. However, it has long been acknowledged by most societies that girls who are not old enough to bear children without damage to their own bodies are too young for marriage and thus intercourse (this is excluding those who were forced, under unfortunate circumstances, to sell their bodies to survive). I think that the same should apply to adolescent males, who can suffer psychologically from being a bit too "ready" while they are still young and inexperienced. Such occurences can bring shame and a feeling of inadequacy. Hormonal levels are too violent in adolescents to allow clearheadedness, which really should be necessary for both partners, at least to some extent. They should know what they're getting into.

That brings me back to pedophillia, especially of young children who are too young to understand what's being done to them or why. You can't argue that they "want" it. They don't even know what "it" is. While they may exhibit signs of arousal, it is purely instinctual at that time and has nothing to do with actual motivations towards something that they are unaware of, that being the nature of sex. If stories of newborns and toddlers being raped don't make you sick inside, I'm very sorry to say that you're a member of the human race--then again, you're hopefully one of the ones who will shortly be in jail for kiddie porn instead of actually turning into a pedophillia. I think that Internet censoring would be good for some things, anyway, and that's one of them.

Pedophillia isn't just disliked by Christians, you know, or those of Abrahimic faiths. I think it's a majority consensus in most religions/cultures that you just don't do that to children. It's like incest. There's actual physical reasons why such things are taboo.

If your son or daughter is going to school or coming from school and someone whom you said has a neurogical problem or probably genetic attack your son or daughter, then you must not sue the latter. God made him that way as you said. But if that neurogical guy read the bible and had a good religious education and learn abstinence and biblic laws, or any other religion laws not just christianism, then he will not do such act. If you go to a mental asylum you will find most of them atheist or not religious people who live like stray dogs, just executing their desires like slaves and do not hold a control upon their own life.

ignorant is for those who are not aware,
close minded is for those who judge their repliers before even reading their replies

I am not a mavern of the bible, but I would imagine it having something to do with pedophilia is wrong, even if you don't act out on it, because you are having impure thoughts, you are probably right that no one chooses to be a pederass but by continuing to act on those desires you heighten your attraction to little children, a candle in a house is not going to burn down the house, but set it next to some oily rags and a pile of news paper and some lumber then you have a problem...get, and to be honest sex crime is the lowest form of crime, I joke about a lot but I do not joke about that

I don't know that the Bible addresses this issue. It is merely a matter of human law. These are laws made by people like me and all right-thinking adults. Are you trying to pretend that you don't understand the usage of this word? I understand that the word could be interpreted to mean a love of children, but in actual usage it indicates sexual abuse of children. That means that it hurts someone. Most people on this site could tell you that I like to joke and get laughs as much as anyone, but there are a few things that aren't very funny. This is one of them.
Convicts in prisons murder men who are in for raping children. States operate websites that list names and photos of convicted sex offenders- well, if they survive prison. If there is one thing that no person will tolerate, this is it.
I'm going to let you ask another question before I report you because I think you are just trying to provoke people.

Pedophilia is not caused by God, it's caused by childhood sexual abuse. Children who are molested suffer terrible trauma from the experience: not only the shock and the pain, but also guilt and the inability to have healthy relationships, among other problems.

The worst thing is that some of these abused children, somewhere in their psyche, believe that "that's the way it is" and perpetuate the problem: they end up doing unto others what was done to them.

Whether you agree or not does not change the fact that it is still wrong!
As an example- you can talk till you are blue in the face saying the moon is made of cheese, but that makes no difference to the truth- no cheese there!
Just cause you think it is ok does not make it so!
