Hi, my name is Larry. I live in a neighborhood with lots of hills, trees, and houses built closely together. Recently, one of my neighbors started having loud sex during the day.
The problem is, I can hear the general direction from where it's coming, but I can't see or tell from which exact house. Since I have two young boys that play in my yard, I want to end this problem as quickly as possible. How can I find out which house this is happening in and how do I make them stop?

Hi Larry. Make a flyer that reads "Dear Neighbor, Please stop having loud sex in the middle of the day. I'm not sure if you are aware but your sex noises can be heard by the entire neighbourhood. My children have already been traumatized by this and I wish to avoid future damage. If this continues I will be forced to telephone the police and report you for disturbing the peace. Thank you in advance for your co-operation." Put one on every door in the neighbourhood. Make sure you put one on your door as well or it will be obvious you did it.

Find out what house it is coming from. See if there is a name on the mailbox. Call information and try to get the phone number ie: "Ferguson on ______Street"
Call and leave a message when they are having sex and tell them everything you heard and ask them to please stop for the sake of your children. I had a neighbor who had loud sex during the day. The girl would start speaking in tongues when she got very aroused. It was embarassing but also pretty amusing. I didn't have young children to worry about, however. Good luck.

Go around to the houses which you suspect and and them politely if they have heard this too. (Try and say it in a round about way, but so that they know what you are talking about). Explain that you have young children and that you would like to get a group together to complain if possible if they have heard it too. You will soon come across the guilty party and they should be a bit more considerate without you even having to make a complaint. You will probably know who it is too from the look on their faces when you reach the right house!

Are you sure it's them?
The only time sex got loud for us is when I got a "CRAMP" in my leg!
But seriously though, is it possible that someone of them may be playing a movie with the volume turned up?
They obviously don't realize/care who hears them, it could be that, this is part of their turn-on, knowing someone is listening.
If you can record somehow, be sure to state the date,time of day, on the recording. Then offer them the information, that you have evidence to got to the authorities, if this behavior continues after you have notified them, with a "friendly" verbal visit.
Be sure to document your verbal approach, in case you have to verify you gave them a "good faith" opportunity.

Perhaps you should look at it this way. You have two young boys who play in your yard. I'll bet they make a whole lot of noise during the day. Has anyone complained about that? You could always turn up the music for awhile - I doubt it goes on for hours, right?

The best thing to do is go out and buy the cd of the big dog barking , people have them for security reasons. but when they start, blast yours. that should stop them

Rent a loudspeaker. Drive around your area repeatedly saying "NO MORE LOUD DAY-TIME SEX !!! PLEASE SPARE MY KIDS!!!"
Or just tell your kids some of the neighbors just like to have fun and put on some music.....

Leave a note on every door around your house, and the say please stop your daytime sex my children don't need to be hearing that kind of thing. hint hint ( don't sign your name )

You could always try walking in that direction and finding the location that way, then leaving a polite note.
Or you could also yell very loudly in that direction: "WOULD YOU MIND CLOSING YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS? MY CHILDREN DON'T NEED SEX EDUCATION AT NOON EVERY DAY!"
