Tinkerbell is pretty classic. I think it is a good idea, if that is what makes you happy. Tatoos stay around for a long time! Over time, they tend to get fuzzier, the nice sharp lines get a little blurry. Some day I'm going to get a traditional sailor's tatoo, a pig on one ankle and a rooster on the other. Its supposed to protect you from drowning. I suppose it could be a metaphor for any kind of drowning.

That sounds fine. Personally I'm not a fan of cartoon tats but Tinkerbell is classic and a small one on your shoulder would look great.
With the better inks tattoos age much better than they used to. I have five tats and am in my 40s and they all look great. Not all places sag (not all people sag) and even if it does having a tat there won't look any worse. At least it shows you were having fun as a young person.

Why don't you wait about ten years and if you still have this goofy idea go for it. I got a few tattoos when I joined the military at 17. Today I take the attitude that it doesn't matter, but it would probably have been better not to get them. I also think Tinkerbell would look ridiculous on an older woman's back.

First off, Tattoos are a personal choice. Don't let ANYONE else tell you what to do with YOUR body. Second, Tattoos are permanent. If you feel that you will want to keep tink with you forever, go for it. You CAN get them removed, but it's a painful process that can result in scars and skin discoloration. Third, tattoos really don't hurt THAT bad, depending on where you get them. It's a bit more tender around your spine. So, take this information, do what you will. If you get a tattoo, I hope it is something YOU want and love. Aside from that, Best of luck to you!

My only advice is make sure that you will want to live with tinkerbell when you are 60! cartoons are usually a bad idea, but if you think long and hard about it and still want that, then I say go for it.

I think that rather than asking other people what they think - you should think about what you want. Is it something that you can live with for the rest of your life? Is it something that means something to you? I think that if you are going to put something permanent on your body that you should have a reason for doing it and that it should mean something to you. Also realize that as you age it is going to change and distort. It's probably not going to look much like tinkerbell when you are 90. But if it is something that you really want to do - then decide for yourself what it is you want and go for it. Good luck.

Tinkerbell is cool, when you're 60, it might look like Rosanne Barr with wings. You might try a jungle cat and later it could look like the Cheshire cat from Allice in Wonderland. How bout your SSN, then the EMTs could ID your body. Tattoos are not easily erasable. You want to be unique, use your talents. Write a book, do a painting, crochet a house. Leave your body unmarked.

I love tattoos, but that sounds pretty generic. Think of something more original, if you pick something on impulse, you're more likely to regret it.
