I think it would be differant with each person. I have never had it but some very close people to me have and I know how I felt when told and what I saw of their reaction. I think to some people it is like a brick going through a window and the feeling of total dispear,loss, fear. The first thing that went through my sister head was her kids, then fear, then self pity, why me? and then she said she just woke up and knew she couldn't quit. I think there is a stage of feels and attitudes.

they basically react the same way, it doesnt really hit them the news until they are into the treatment phase already...individual reactions varies but it doesnt have to do with whether they are male of female
