Fear of rejection, they think that if they do it through a third party they might not feel as bad if the girl doesnt like them as it hasnt been a direct rejection where the guy has put his heart on the line in front of the girl

They do that because they are shy and fear rejection. It is the same with us girls too! It is much easier to have a "middleman" to check out the situation.

because the yar eafraid of rejection and because if they know a girl likes them/is interested, it makes it easier for them to come up and say hello- however, I think it's stupid when they do that.
