No one better set their drink down on my furniture if there is not a coaster underneath it. Not only does it ruin my wood furniture, but it leaves nasty marks on my non-wood furniture.

Yes, we always use coasters. Everyone should especially on wood furniture which stains very quickly if you don't use one. And to get the stain out you need to have the piece of furniture sanded down and refinished.

I am using one right now!!!

I have a set of coasters but they are mainly just for show. I dont have any expensive tables that actually need them to be used on.

Yep, I'm using one right now. Mum gets VERY cranky if we leave coffee rings on her beautiful indian coffee table. Coasters are great, they save wooden furniture from damage and they save you from having to get up and clean the coffee rings off : )

i knew this girl who had a coaster for her coaster because it was this expensive deorative thingy. too bad it fell and broke.

as for me i dont use em because by the time it actually does damage the wooden table, i'd either be dead, or have bought a new table.

yep.
But when I don't have a coaster I use those round plastic lids from yogurt or chip contatiners.

Why wouldn't they?
Drinks still contain liquid. Liquid still leave a mark on wood. Even the most careful person can't compete with nature - IE condensation.
Just because you don't, why would we stop?
