amazing. I guess when you ask a legitimate question that happens to make people uncomfortable you get flooded with "thumbs down".

By the way science scholars, Down's Syndrome is not the only chromosomal abnormality that can result in a chromosome count other than 46.

Yeah, please stop trying to start debates about things like this, that might cause some enlightened, intelligent discourse and that might raise the level of intelligence on YA by oh, 25%. Don't you know debates are dumb and useless?? Geez!!

Yes, they are known as Downs syndrome babies. It is also called Trisomy 21. Downs syndrome sufferers are born with an extra chromosome, that gives them a total of 47 chromosomes.

I beieve that everyone is born with 46. They may not have copied corretcly, but they still have 46.

Ewww...babies with Downs Syndrome are gross...& so are thier mothers for not having abortions when they found out about it in the womb.
