Never. First, never enter into a war you about which you do not doubt your possibility of victory. Second, make plans for what you will do once you have defeated the opposing army and deposed the government.

You must realise, however, that someone has benefited from every single war. War is good for business (at least some businesses): and a war with North Korea could possible prodce massive profits for some companies, if it is fought conventionally. However, the US military does not currently have the resources to fight a conventional war with North Korea: if America does ever commit the folly of starting a war with the DPRK, it will be a nuclear war in which the North Korea will commit suicide.

That would lead to the Third World War, however. I know that America's leaders currently are not that stupid as to start a nuclear war, and to render an allied nation uninhabitable: what do you think nuking the DPRK will do to South Korea?

You of course have not any concept what you're speaking approximately. sure, North Korea is an evil stalinist regime with nukes and concentration camps, yet additionally they have between the worlds greatest armies, to no longer point out hundreds of missiles experienced on South Korean cities in basic terms some miles away. quickly, a conflict could easily be winnable, besides the indisputable fact that it may value a minimum of a million million (usually Korean) lives. The Iraq conflict has value around a hundred and fifty-2 hundred hundred thousand lives so a techniques over 6 years, so it may no longer truly be in comparison. the different question isn't any matter if North Korea will use their nukes on South Korea, which might reason much extra mass destruction and death. as nicely, the U. S. military is stretched very skinny because it is in Iraq and Afghanistan and could be no longer able to combat yet another conflict.

Bombing Iran, North Korea would be the end. Bombing Iran would contaminate their and possible other middle East oil supplies; it would solidify the Islamic Movement it would make every other third world country turn against us (so to make sure we could not get the jump on them) we would have daily assassinations and bombing just like they have in Russia and Baghdad.

Bombing Northern Korea would be just as bad if not worse. In October 1950, China entered the Korea war and kicked our butts. They dared us to drop the atomic bombs on them. They knew their population was so large that for us to be able to put a dent in it would have caused so much atomic energy to have been expended the world as we knew it would have ceased to exist. Well, they have even more people now; we would have a hard time using nukes on North Korea, as due to their proximity to South Koreas we would be killing an ally. The North Koreas rolled over the South in 1950 but would have a harder time this time. Japan has a non-aggression Constitution but I believe they would have to come to the aid of the South. If not and the North wins they would keep going over Japan.

God bless you and the Southern People.

Going to war never helped anyone. Never solved anything. But undoubtedly the USA will try and destroy North Korea in the near future. How near, I'm afraid, can't be ascertained.

Erudite, again you show how inappropriate your screen name is.

We did not get our "butts kicked" in Korea in '53. We achieved a stalemate against an overwhelmingly larger army, after having utterly annihilated the North Koreans.

Why don't you go out and get a real life?

we DID NOT get our butts kicked in 1953....with that said...the best thing we could do is go in silence and leave a hole in the ground where NKorea used to be!! I get so tired of being nice to a bunch of sick opportunists with no moral fiber! So I hope the USA goes in and just takes care of the problem and I wish they had done it yesterday!

Well, with the Republicans getting attacked by all sides over Iraq, I wouldn't hold my breath for any more major attacks on any of those places any time soon.

At least not until after the next major election.

I don't think it will ever happen. You see, Russia and China signed this agreement to never go to war with eachother, and China is allies with North Korea. So if we invade North Korea we would have China and Russia on our asses pretty quick. Bush is lookin to invade Iran before he gets outta office not North Korea.
