I love it! I think it's worth it if you can afford it. Here's one thing that a lot of people looking into upgrading to HDTV don't consider: The hookups. How many different sources are you going to want hooked up to high definition? In my opinion, component cables (even the high priced Y-Pb-Pr cables) don't compare to a cheap HDMI cable, but here's a problem: Most televisions now come with either 1 or 2 HDMI inputs. If you want only a cable/satellite receiver hooked up this way, then you'll only need a tv with 1 input, but if you want to hook your dvd player up as well, you need 2 inputs. Usually 2 input tv's will run you about $500 more. And in all honesty, if you're going to fork over the money to upgrade, don't be cheap on how you hook it up.

I think Yeah But depent what Brand, Quality and Price.
Because Is smaller, sharp and enjoyful experiance.
What is HDTV?
HDTV is high-resolution digital television (DTV) combined with Dolby Digital surround sound (AC-3). This combination creates a stunning image with dramatic sound effects. HDTV requires new production and transmission equipment at the HDTV stations, as well as new equipment for reception by the consumer. The higher resolution picture is the main selling point for HDTV. Imagine 720 or 1080 lines of resolution compared to the 525 lines used in conventional analog televisions, and you can clearly see the HDTV advantage.

If you care about the Quality of the picture, HD is worth it. If you're just gonna
watch re runs and shows not broadcst in HD, then just get something good
quality. I have a Sony 42" only because I got a really, really good price on it.
I don't watch it a lot but when I do, I'm impressed. I can flip between regular
broadcast and HD broadcast and the difference is remarkable. You can
wait a few years but I think by 2009 or 2010 everything originating from the
U.S. will be broadcast in HD anyway.

The local air channels are great, but the cable converter or dish receiver doesn't seem to give you a true HDTV picture. It depends on how much money you have. If you can afford one great, but don't go into debt for one, it's not all that.

personally no. I used to work at DTV, and for all of them, I would not pay for them, but it might be nice if you had a huge screen for the detail.
There are some people that would go ape when theirs was cut off, or would not have OTA reception.... I hated that... it was SO STUPID... geez, take a walk or something.
