If passengers are already inside the airplane flying to the USA, why do they need to promote???

Anyway, airlines promote themselves, that's all they care basically.
And the US is probably the only country with free promotion ( good and bad) worldwide, from newspapers to magazines, movies,sports and tv!

Well, airlines do promote tourism - many even have their own holiday company attached to the airline. British Airways Holidays (BA) DNATA (Emirates) American Airlines (er..., American Airlines) QANTAS Holidays etc. So, airlines do an awful lot to promote tourism. Further, they do use a lot of songs. Why not write to one of the (American) airlines' PR departments and suggest it? After all Frank Sinatra singing "...In old New York" would be a great way to land at JFK!
