Why does it have to be christianity or nothing at all?

it seems like if someone is familiar enough with the bible (from a religious rather than a scholastic perspective) to have a real problem with it, it's likely that they have been with the religion long enough to have been consciously or unconsciously indoctrinated. so they have been told that christianity is the only valid faith, and thus make the conclusion that the only alternative is to reject it (because no other faith is valid). that's probably not accurate for every person, but it's an idea.

It could be a result of experience. Once a person has lived through a scenario of blatant hypocrisy....and the decision to leave the religion is final and absolute.....it often includes the concept of God.

I mean no offence to Christianity....but in certain situations there is such a profound belief in God being part of the Christian faith and God existing no where else.....that the decision becomes immediately absolutely knowing that a need for any form of a higher power is not required or necessary.

There is also the logic that some people do attempt faith in other religions and decide....nothing is suitable and still feel no need to believe in a higher power.

Each person has his/her own story and reasons for deciding what's right for them. Personally....I maintain an open mind, but at this moment Deism is the best choice for me. However, I fully understand the concept of Atheism as being a very logical possibly the correct choice for me in the future.

Thank you, I completely agree. It's like most on here just abandoned God and religion as a whole because of the flaws in the Bible, so they use that as their main defense for their choice. Even certain fundamentalists have admitted that it shouldn't be taken as literal truth.

I think the ones who just insult Christianity, and obviously haven't put that much thought into Atheism, are kids who are rebelling from what ma and pa rammed into their heads while growing up. They don't even bother to look into other religions it seems.

I didn't but I searched for God thru much prayer and my experience with him is beyond comprehension. Being an atheist or going to other religions is not the way to go. We must Seek HIM!

Because they do not go to the NEW TESTAMENT BUT USE THE OLD TESTAMENT instead to find and give answers from. If its not there then its not of God.
They need to go to the roots of both religions . Israelites(JEWISH) and the worship of Christ.both started from Pagan roots.
And forget that the bible was written from oral traditions from before writing was invented.
and the most common jobs back then were farmers and herdsmen. not what we have today.

Why can't Muslims face up to the fact that Jesus is Son of God?
Jesus is Son of God, that so all His teaching are about love, forgiveness and peace.

How come Muslims cannot face up to the fact that mohamad are not prophet of Allah ??,

Because Allah, will not allow man to have 2/3/4 wife by any excuse. So all the pervert, sex maniac, child molester cannot be good man.

Because Allah, will not allow their beleiver to kill, torture, harash, hate other beleiver. Allah never teach full of hate with each other human being that He created. Also Christians, Chatolics, Jews have the same God, Allah of Abraham, I dont know about Islam because if your prophet from the same God your prophet will not teach you to hate the same beleiver.

Infront of Allah, all human are the same right. But Mohammad that claim him self as prophet teach many discrimination against women ????

Allah never teach with violent, full of hate, full of pleasure, so do you think Mohamad is the real prophet from Allah ???

Wake Uppp !!!

Er, many people do go to other religions, actually. I did, though I wouldn't exactly consider my beliefs a religion. They work for me, though.
