Nothing wrong with you at all. I've lived in a small city for over 10 years and I just took a job requiring me to be familiar with the streets and I was surprised and embarrassed by what I don't know! San Diego is probably 10 times the size of my city ...
As long as you know your own address, how to get help if you're lost, how to read a street sign so you can tell someone where you are, and you have a cell phone, you'll be fine.

No. Just because you live there doesn't mean you've taken the time out to discover it. I've found that a bike ride around the neighborhood usually helps orient me to the place. And now, you can check out the area through Google maps, that'll set you straight once and for all with San Diego!

Nope I moved to the capital of my state almost 3 years ago and I must be direction impaired because I can only get to places I go often (Indian restaurants and other restaurants, Nail Salon, hair salon, grocery store etc...) You should probably just explore more of the city that's what I try to do.

San Diego is pretty big. so maybe you just don't remember your streets well. it's ok. big cities are confusing.
