Does anyone know of any online support groups - chatrooms, message forums, etc... for people dealing with the trauma of accidentally killing someone?

I know someone, through no fault of their own, struck and killed a pedestrian who came out of nowhere and went in front of his car.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

To the neanderthal who answered "Manslaughter" - were you this stupid all your life? And you say your source is "law"? Well he wasnt charged because he didn't do anything wrong. It was out of his control. This shows how smart you are. I wish we can vote for "most ignorant answer" because you would win, jerkoff.

Well, I wasn't going to answer this question because I don't know of any on line support groups, but I saw some of the other RUDE replies and wanted to add something. I don't know how long ago this happened to your friend, but I would assume a trauma like that may cause Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which I have suffered with myself. I strongly recommend that you advise your friend to get some professional help. A counselor should be able to lead your friend on the appropriate path to support groups and whatever else he needs. What a horrible thing to have happen. Your friend is lucky to have a supportive friend, he will definitely need you, but I can't stress enough the importance of finding a good counselor.

I am so sorry to say that I do not know of any on-line support groups to help someone in this situation. I feel so badly about this. May I suggest that you just ignore certain people who give such rude answers (and are given several thumbs down), and continue to support this person in any way you can. Accidents do occur, no one could have stopped this from happening. Professional counseling would probably be the best way to deal with this situation. Get them to make an appointment and see someone as soon as they can get in. I hope this helps.

I'm very sorry for your friend. Even though there is no fault put upon him, it's human nature to take responsibility and feel guilt after this sort of trauma.
Call your local mental health dept and ask them if they have any suggestions. They could possibly know where online he could go. Off hand, I would think WebMD might have something along those lines, at least there I know you can go 1 on 1 with health professionals who can steer you in the right direction.
Good luck to you and your friend. May God's peace be with you and him or her.

omg that's horrible. Let me tell you upfront, you are a great friend to that person for wanted to help them cope!!! If they are really in great need of support, friends are always easier to talk to than some psyologist they just met five minutes beforehand. Although, it is best to have a professional help them, they know great proceedures. Take them to church. Church is a very calming atmosphere and you can meet some great people there. Pray about it, I know I will.

you may want to pray and ask God to for see this for you and before you talk to anyone else always remember God should be first because he says he'll never leave you in the time of troubleand he'll never forsake us. God Bless you in your time of need.
