I mean the ones who refuse to get married, and why?
P.S. Not the ones who haven't found the right one.
As for me Old/Maid/Spinster applies. Thanks.

Reason not married, is that I am looking for a guy with a good heart, genuine, that's all. No list, simple.

Hello there, i think sometimes people are influence by role models in their lives (or lack of)......people learn about realtionships in their environment, so if they come from an abusive environment they may never want to marry as they will have problems with feeling safe & being able to trust. Co-dependancy is a major issue when it comes to marriage too.........Personally i am not married, because i see that committment as being VERY serious, i do come from an abusive environment and for years was attracted to violent men i am here to tell you tho with lots of therapy & work on myself i am no longer attracted to the violent type.....one day i might marry but for the moment i am in a steady relationship of 5 years & that suits me fine, only difference would be a piece of paper!

I didn't get married until I was almost 40 and had never wanted to.
I enjoyed being alone and did not want to commit to one person the rest of my life. I love my husband and don't think I could be married to anyone else but I enjoyed being single too most of the time.

because they are SMART
there is no benfit to it
with divorce rates over 50%
why would you want to
to bear children?
that can be done outside of a marriage
to have a committed relationship..? a ring and a legal contract will not hold parties together forever..
for long term companionship?
you can get a dog that will always be happy to see you every 10 years or so....
financially? the single people have more free time and money to travel than those who marry and have children..
for sex? married couples have less sex than non married couples..

I know a lot of people who have their expectations WAY too high. It's the media, I tell you. Look at the show "King of Queens". There's no way that guy would have gotten that chick in real life. Roseanne and Dan? Now there was a good match.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 14 yrs this December, and we have never even thought about marriage. We both have our ideallistic beliefs of what marriage should be, and I don't think neither one of us want to be disallusioned by the reality of what marriage really is. That's why we haven't gotten married and we probably never will.

I would have LOVED to make a person MRS. DWAYNE. However I am not crazy out proving my love by a piece of legal paper.
If she wanted us to get married for whatever reason then yes I would.

Because to them getting married is just a piece of paper. Marrage is a comitment so you don't really need to get married to be comited to sameone. And if it does not work out you can just pack you things and walk out and don't have to worry about getting a divorce

They are afraid of commitments and responsibilities in marriage... and others have health problems. Actually there are many reasons but these two are the most common.

some people are too afraid that they may get hurt, and some people truly are happier on their own. if you can't be happy with yourself, how can you be happy with someone else? some people have seen how marriages end up all bitter and messy and don't want to go through that and are just happy with a career and a dog or cat, unconditional love.

some are just commitment shy.....while others my feel that they are losing their identity as an individual if they are married, another instance could be that they have been so hurt in the past that they dont want to chance being hurt again......theres a thousand different reasons......marriage isnt for everyone.....
