he did a complete tear out tiles are wavey crooked cutting around facuets look as if chisled wall pates are crooked some hole is to big for walplat vent is crooked hab a real builder come in and he shook his head in disbelief and yes in GR mich you need permits according to building inspector

I would think you could have someone redo it and get it to how it should look. Be sure to let thie Daryl person know you are displeased and that you will be charging him for what it costs to have it redone if you have already paid him OR not paying him at all if he hasnt already been paid.
If needed take him to small claims court to collect. Make sure to have before and after pics. Also, you may want to give him a chance to fix what is needed...
