It depends on the worms. Most pups have roundworms and roundworms are quite visible in the stool. You will see them coming out. Some worms are not visible...like whip worms. To be totally sure that your pup is free of worms, bring in a stool sample to your vet 3-4 weeks after deworming to be checked for worms.

the two biggest signs will be to check his poop several times a day. At 12 weeks old, you should be potty training him anyway and you will be right there. if you wormed him, you should see worms or have seen worms in the stool and the lack of seeing them is a good sign. Also, the most easiest way to tell if the de-worming worked is if he starts putting on weight faster than your used to seeing . if he was loosing a lot of weight due to worms, he'll most likely stat putting the pounds back on. good luck.

I know this is going to sound extremely disgusting. But both of my beagles had this problem as pups. After the dewormer is given to the pup, just watch the feces. If you don't see little white spaghetti-ish things in the poop then the pup is all better. If not...well, you can guess.

Check his/her feces, when they take a poop. If the worming worked, you will see dead worms in the doggies feces.
You didn't say what kind of worms. If it was for heart worms, you can not tell yourself, only a vet.can tell with a blood test.

well you would have to check its doo doo and see if there are worms...dead or alive. Just because there is none does not mean it didnt work, only that maybe it didnt have any.

If you see a little worm saying "Hey-a" from your doggy's butt then it means that your little puppy-pooper-eater needs another treatment. ; )
