why are italians so romantic?

It's in the culture...and Romanticism is NOT sexual harrassment, unless you consider sexual harrassment giving a woman flowers, writing poetry for her, express your feelings for her in a letter, listening to her talk while cuddling her in your arms, taking her to see the sunset on a romantic beach and so forth...Italians do that since they start their first approaches with women, when they are 14 or 15. Almost everybody does it, it's considered normal, older brothers give suggestions to younger brothers in that sense, friends tip off other friends...
Moreover, the fact that most Italians do not get drunk during social occasions helps....They will be able to dance with a woman until the end of a party and then drive her home, and not lose conciousness at her feet or embarass themselves by being drunken hogs...their language will be honey right untill the crucial moment, allowing them to score great points...and when the crucial moment comes, they will not try to jump in your panties right away, but will give foreplay the necessary importance. I'm sure most girls appreciate that, and although NOT ALL Italians are like that, MOST are.

LOL. I am English but married to an Italian girl and I spend lots of time in Sicily. I have also travelled worlwide. The ideas that Italians are more romantic I think is balderdash.
I lived recently for example in South Korea as a business English teacher and Koreans are probably more romantic because the girls and guys are both romantic, with great emphasis in Korean culture based on marriage - hence why i think it is this way in Korea.
I think the way Italian are quite honestly, is kind of false. Italian men, most italian women will tell you from experience, are very chauvinistic and they try to do what some women classify as romantic things, to get laid rather than because they are genuinly romantic. I think in reality, in real relationships, even English men are more romantic than Italian - once married.

Because of the clima and georgaphical location. In Italy, there are beachs everywhere, and the mood of people leaving so close to the warm sea must be romantic...
Plus the culture. Italian songs. Romantic songs about love and unforgetable impressions of a couple staing and looking at the sunset on the beach, while the tide-wave is touching a feets and asks: isn't life wonderful?...

The first response is WAY off base-there is a HUGE difference between sexual harrassment and being romantic. Italian men appreciate, nurture, cater to women in ways that American men are clueless to. As for why, it's that Latin blood...sigh And the nature of the culture, as Italian men born in the U.S. are not the same as Italians in Italy.

When someone says men from a country are romantic, that usually tells us they PRACTICE! That means what we call in the US, sex harassment. Those guys hit on women from the time the men are boys, and thus develop their romancing skills.

In the US, we have criminalized learning to be romantic, so of course we are not romantic. This was demanded by the women, who then then turn around and tell us how romantic men of Mexico or Italy or wherever really are.
