I just interviewed with an agency like this, and I sent a follow-up email saying thanks.
After saying thank you, you should be in touch with them every week via email or phone to let them know your status and ask about job leads. Recruiters can get really bogged down with all their applicants and you need to stay at the top of your list.

It doesn't hurt.
Typically thank you letters are sent to employers who interview with but if you want to endear yourself to the staffing agency, by all means write a letter. ;)

The staffing agency needs you more than you need them. They need qualifying candidates to send to their clients. No thank you letter is necessary.

Yes, because by sending that thank you note you are putting yourself in front of that person and reminding them of you! Therefore when they are ready to hire, your name will be the first on their list! Send a thank you note and remind them of your attributes!

If you want to be professional about it then yes send one , i usually don't though .. i dont think i ever sent one and i still got the job
