You can use heavy cream (this has a butterfat content of at least 36%, whereas double cream has 42% butterfat) OR créme fraîche (as a dessert topping) OR egg custard (as a dessert topping).

The only difference between double cream and heavy whipping cream is the fat content. There is about 48% fat in double cream and only about 40% in heavy whipping cream so you using it won't really effect the outcome of your recipe.

Greek style yoghourt. It tastes good and creamy but has a lot less fat. Depending on the recipe, you can sometimes use silken tofu, if it's for a cheesecake or something similar.
