Since Islam is clearly a religion of violence and death why do people worship Allah?

Islam has never contributed anything but mayhem,bloodshed, hatred,death and destruction to the world. The history of Islam is a road paved with the rotting corpses of innocent human beings, and Mohammed was clearly a madman,so why would people who otherwise seem like decent human beings allow them down this path of evil ? Why would they damn their children to oppression, bloodshed and brutality?Wouldn't the world be a better place if the scourge that is Islam was removed from the Earth so that the decent people who may still exist could have a chance to live a peaceful life and future?

In answer to some comments can only deal with one blood thirsty religion at a time,and the idea that it is interpretation of scriptures rather than actual words of scriptures is so very false,sounds like some people need to actually read the books of Islam Christianity and Judaism,they clearly advocate heinous acts repeatedly in the name of their gods.

I feel much the same about all three of the Abrahamic religions. Judaism, Islam and Christianity are the most arrogantly aggressive and wantonly destructive religions ever to plague the consciousness of humanity. the deity all three religions worship is a reflection of the harsh and unforgiving environment of the desert thus the religions endangered are fiercely territorial. genocide is permitted when done in the name of the Bible deity because people living in a barren habitat are greedy for resources, resources like potable water, grazing lands, slaves and good soil. they easily justify any heinous means of getting what they need having created a god that encourages them to violence. thousands of years later the justifications and attitudes remain as part of the very nature of the collective consciousness of the Yahweh worshipers.

Anyway, both Christianity and Islam are going to be around for the foreseeable future. So you had best learn a little bit more than what the fundamentalist bigots are telling you about both religions.

Evilness is only found in the hearts of men not God, man interprets scripture for his own benefit not Gods, some religious leaders have become vary violent and hateful men, some countries are trying to rid the world of these evil people, unfortunately Innocent people are also dying because of it, I believe the Islamic religion is in trouble because it is split right down the middle when it come to interpreting the Koran, they really do have good on one side and evil on the other, they are more to be pity ed than hated.

Remember the incurrsions and invasions of the Americas was not done by Muslims. Mass serial murder was committed, theft of land, cheating of contracts, abuse of men women & children in every possible way conceiveable, obliteration of culture, all not done by muslims. The worst of it is, that these atrocites are ignored by the santimonious, whom live in a land where literiture is readily available and they refuse to read books that could shed "clarity" on the matter.

Some convert when they hear the truth. But they risk death, because Muslims will kill anyone who converts to Christianity. Mother, fathers, sons, and daughters, have all been killed by family members because they converted to Christianity. For this reason, many are extremely closed minded when it comes to hearing the truth.

I have wondered too, if it is such a good thing to have your people strap bombs to themselves, kill innocent people, killing themselves as well and cause great destruction (remember 9/11) why don't the leaders do this? They tell their young men to do such things, why don't they do likewise? HHMMMM
