Music is supposed to be one of the most soothing ways to calm yourself down. Country music just depresses me. The dog ran away, the wife ran away and then in the end the dog comes back and the wife comes back. Rap makes alot of people mad, but the metal and other varieties of music may sooth your mind. You could be getting out you aggression with the metal I do. But when I really need cheering up I just get up and put on "The Best of the Doors" Jim Morrison always makes me smile. However studies have shown that music (the right kind) should soothe you. Good Luck

The effects of music are often grossly misunderstood.

Scientists spend years researching just to add weight to their biased views about music.

It is not true that only slow music is healthy.

Remember that music is sound. Sound is energy. Humans can feel energy. The creative stimuli of music makes you feel creative yourself. Different musical instruments and different human voices have different timbres that affect different listeners differently.

My nephew and niece listened to both classical and acoustic rock music while they were mere fetuses. Look how they turned out! They are beautiful, good-natured children who love U2 and love playing mock drums!

When I meditate, I sometimes listen to chill out, lounge or even trance music!

Hard rock can be therapeutic, especially when heard on a good sound system. I’ve calmed myself down almost instantaneously, many times, by playing Hendrix, Queen and Orgy, for example.

Listen to music that best suits your taste and temperament – at a given moment. That’s the key.

music definitelyalters the mind, when you are sad you listen to it to make you feel good, when your happy it picks your spirits up. The octaves that use to play on in the 50's and befoore have been speed up so the frequencies ared ifferent. Music isn't real music anymore it is synthetic.

Well i have learned that if you play a musical instrument that it uses both the left and right of your brain. Reading the music helps you mentally and playing the music helps you physically. Studies say music makes you smarter!
