When i watched Passion of the Christ, i can't help but think that Jesus is actually not God.. He is a messenger of God who was sent down to us to guide us.... True, he was crucified to save us, but tat doesn't make him a God..I believe ppl should listen to him more and pray to his Father, the GOD that sent him down.. that GOD is above Jesus....... Any comments peeps? Correct me if i am wrong........

i realised most of the quotes taken from the Bible mentioned that Jesus himself made the claim that He and the Father are One... And he had refer to himself as the God many times in several passages.... Wat if someone else were to make the same claims n did watever he did previously, does that make him God too... Muslims believe that he is a messenger of God.. He was sent down to spread the message of Islam throughout... And the person who was sacrificed was not him but a friend who looked like him... As Jesus was running from the enemy, God has risen him up to save him and his fren took his position in the end.... That was how the story goes i heard... I would love to hear more abt this from the muslims... Don't mistake me.. I m jus trying to gather facts and opinions on this matter and i hope no one gets offended by my questions or statements.

I will be happy to show you why Jesus is God.

Jesus Himself made the claim that He is God. He applied the name of God, "I AM," to Himself in several passages. Here's a few examples: Matthew 14:27, Mark 6:50, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8, John 4:26, John 6:20, John 8:24, 28, 58, and John 13:19. (Some English translations mistranslate the Greek term "ego eimi," or I am, as "I am he," or "it is I.") There are several others I have not listed. Besides this, Jesus said that He & the Father were one (John 10:30).

Jesus also received worship:

"Then the men in the boat began to worship Jesus, saying, "You certainly are the Son of God!" (Matthew 14:33)

"Suddenly Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" They went up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him." (Matthew 28:9)

"They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy." (Luke 24:52)

"He said, "Lord, I do believe," and worshiped him." (John 9:38)

"I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, "To the one who sits on the throne and to the lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever!" Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!", and the elders bowed down and worshiped." (Revelation 5:13-14)

Even the religious leaders of His day wanted to stone Him for saying that He was God. Look at this situation: "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, "Son, your sins are forgiven." Now some scribes were sitting there, arguing among themselves, "Why does this man talk this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (Mark 2:5-7)

And they were right. No one could forgive sins but God alone.

First do not listen to the first person who replied. What is she ten? Does she not know that Islam doesn't believe that Jesus was God's son, and instead a prophet?

Believe what you want to, but you should explore different views on the matter before deciding which one you agree with.

SyaKiRa,
I have heard your arguement many times before. What you show, as have the others, is a lack of understanding of the types and shadows that were described and performed in the Old testament. People in general do not make any connection to the Feast Days or the various types that were a symbol of Christ by the tabernacle, the Ark of Noah, the Ark of the Covenant, the kinsman redeemer of the Book of Ruth, the type of Christ that was Moses, the Passover Lamb, the sepent on the pole, and many many more.

In Islam, Jesus is a prophet and Muslims believe that he was NOT crucified.

Yes, he was Messenger of God.

Yes you are wrong. The bible tells us that Jesus was God made flesh in the book of John, Chapter 1. While Jesus was on earth, He was subordinate to the Father in heaven. Perhaps that is what confused you from that movie? He made the statement to His disciples "if you have seen me, you have seen the Father", and also "I and the Father are one". Please read the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and I think your opinion will change.

Bless you!

Uh, theres several times when Jesus claimed and proved he WAS G-d. He proved he was G-d by his miracles, he proved he was G-d by his death on the cross and when he threw down with the Pharacies and the Sadducies he flat out told them he was G-d.

Its interesting to note that Jesus said he was sent by God and he is the Son of God, and yet if you have seen the Son you have also seen the Father....and they were going to stone him but he escaped for his time had not yet come

Jesus showed he was equal to the Father by saying to the woman "your sins are forgiven" every time Jesus showed himself to be equal to God notice that the action of the people was to try to kill him or capture him to have him killed, he always slipped away until his time had come.

You are right!!! Jesus is the Son of God. All real Christian and Catholic Bibles will say that. The Bible was translated so that people can decide what to believe for themselves.

Sorry, but thats not what the Christians believe. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one in the same.

Yes we should pray to God, with Jesus as our intermediary. God is above Jesus as any Father is above his son.
