There are so many verses about divorce, so I will list them instead of writing them,Deut.24:1-

4 Malachi 2:13-16 Matt:19:1-12
Mark 10:2-12 I Corth.7:10-16
This will explain it much better that I can.
I hope this helps!

The bible says except for adultery or desertion, a person is not to divorce and/or remarry. That being said, no....you won't go to hell if you do this. But one should realize that they have sinned against God, and ask His forgiveness.

The Church does not allow divorce, as it is a pact you made with God.

Even if you could prove adultery for the other spouse, in the eyes of God, you are both still married to each other, thus the sin of adultery on both of you

I used to be a member of a Baptist Church in Illinois until they told my son, while he was at a revival, that I was commiting adultry with the husband I have been with for alomost 10 1/2 years. They told him that once you are married that it is for life. I called the preacher and told him that I got divorced from a wife beating, womanizing piece of crap that couldn't control his alcohol and that noone was going to convince me that it was in anyones best interest for me to stay with him. I also told him that if that was grounds for going to hell then it wouldn't be much of a switch for me because that is where I was living during my 11 year marriage that I divorced. I also told him that a chance of going to hell would be well worth taking and I wanted to be dropped from their membership because it was obviously a cult of idiots being run my judgemental hyprocrats.

NO Jesus atoned for ALL of our sins, we are not to be a slave to sin and we are not in the practice of continually sinning and knowing about it, but yes it is a sin THANK GOD for Jesus because we would all go to hell if not for him..."if he marked our transgression no-one would stand, but thanks to his grace we are cleansed by the blood of the lamb"
