I have a recipe that calls for Campbell's consumme and I can't find it in the stores....what is consumme? Is there a different name for this that Campbell's gives it?

~~~It is a broth that is strained repeatedly ,,,,it should have a nice clear color,,,,personally I like a hearty soup,,,,consumme is just fancy broth,,,,,,

Consomme is clear soup, usually beef, made by boiling beef and onions and herbs and then straining them to leave a clear brown broth. You should be able to find a good recipe on the net.

Campbell soup has it.can be found in any grocery store.including Walmart.in the little red and white can.its just a thick broth

it's a clear broth, not a stock. you can just use a bouillon cube instead.
