I had to give up sex 10 years ago when my husband had a stroke and then over the next few years 7 heart attacks. He is healthy-ish now, but sex is out for him. I miss it sometimes, but if you REALLY love someone, the sacrifices you make don't mean much if you can still laugh together and need each other's company.

I don't fully understand your question. But I'll give it a shot. You can be intimate and not have sex. You can be intimate and have sex. You can have sex and have no intimacy Intimacy is being close with each other however that is. Depending on the relationship with the person you are with at the time makes a difference. Say like a one night stand. Most likely it wouldn't be no intimacy because it's a fling or a fly by night. But like if you are with someone you are with, than there might be intimacy and be more passionate and meaningful. But I think if you are going to have sex it should be both persons wanting to get close not just one person. You haven't said which side of the grass you are on, but if you are on the side that thinks the opposite of your question then talk to him about it and tell him other ways that you can be intimate without the sex, and when you feel comfortable or ready to incorporate that, than go for it. Hope that helped.

I believe that sex is important, but not the MOST important in a relationship. I think too many people nowadays focus too much on the sexual part of the relationship and not enough about the emotional. I believe that sex is never just physical, it involves your emotions as well.

In the 25 years of my life The person I loved most (intensely and passionanttley) never wanted sex. We would never have needed to feel close. The happiness of. the soul counts more than the happiness of the body.

No, it isn't improtant. If the person really loves you, they'd be willing to have the relationship without sex. Sex just makes things a little awkward sometimes, adn once you do it, you've reached the farthest with your social relationship.
