I asked her out to a school dance. she told me that she had already agreed to hang out with her friends at dance, but that she would save a dance for me. so im wondering, how do I ask her if her offer to dance with me was a sincere one, or was it just to not hurt my feelings

well......maybe for the "dance" with her, try to get close and stuff, or just watch her, if shes looking around the room the whole time and it looks like she doesnt even care, then it wasnt sincere, if she looks into your eyes, or she gets closer to you, than you kno it was.........good luck......and if you were here for our school dance coming up, id totally dance with you the whole time, you sound sweet.....

If you really need to know. Tell her that you don't want to take her away from her friends. But let her know that you would like to dance with her. Just let her know that it means a lot to you, but make sure she also knows that she doesn't have to be nice by telling her that it's ok if we don't dance type thing. Judging on her answer... you can figure out if she really means it... or she is just trying to be nice. But always... make sure you respect her and her feelings.

You could just flat out ask her if she actually meant she'd dance with you.
Or you could wait until the dance, and find her when a slow song is coming on and hold her to her offer.
If she was lying, it was a mean thing to do, even if she was trying to spare your feelings. And if she's going to say she'll do something, she has to do it.

Did you ever think that maybe she is grounded or maybe not allowed to date yet?
Don't ask. Just show up and claim your dance. If you click, then you will both have a great time. If not, no harm.
So, just go and enjoy.

well when she is standing near you ask her if she want some punch if she says yes bring her some start talking and ask her to dance.

simply say," you shouldn't break promises" and put your hand out indicating that you want her to grab it.
