I was walking by with my family and he thought my mothers rainbow colored shirt was supporting homosexuality. He then told my mom that she was going to hell for supporting gays. It really pissed me off so later that day me and a group of friends found him on the same street corner and beat the living $hit out of him. We have not seen him on the corner since and I think everyone is very happy about it.

wow. what rock did you crawl out from under? get back there now. violence is NEVER a good thing unless it's used in self-defense. not all catholics say stupid things like that. don't blame his stupidity on being catholic, he's just an idiot. either way, it didn't give you the right to beat him up, if indeed you did, and you'll be lucky if he doesn't press charges against you for assault. blessed be.

I'm sorry my friend, but violence is never an answer. It is an un-thought out reaction.

The man on the street with the sign was most likely mentally ill, and should have been in a home, but because we do not have universal healthcare, the man couldn't get the medical phychiatric inpatient help that he needed. It's not his fault that he's acting in this way. This is a common way for schizophrenics to act. They cannot help themselves. Beating him up just means that his beliefs in his altered reality is confirmed...that your family supported gays and beat him up for saying so. This is not really correct, but it affirms his belief, and so he will keep doing the same thing on another street corner, and may get violent out of "self defence" next time he sees someone that looks or seems in some way like your family. Think about it.

Violence = ignorance. Always. Unless one's life is in danger, violence is not the answer. Most of the time, even when one's life is in danger, you gan get out of it without resorting to violence.

You beat up a man for doing something that you didn't understand. That is wrong. A better thing would be to give him a ride to the medicaid place and see if you can't get him on it, then take him to a mental hospital. That, and only that, can solve the problem.

One more good reason for Universal Health Care.

You and your friends done wrong. How can you beat the $hit out of someone because they expressed their freedom of speech? All he done was told your mom what the shirt meant to him.Im sure your mom got over it.You should of also. What you and your friends done is played a childs game, you know like 6 years old do when someone talks about their mother. And there has to be a reason why you did not take this guy on yourself.Must of feared him.You knew you could not beat him yourself.Eat your wheaties before you go playing the (dont talk about my mama game).

This guy was wrong in his thinking and for what he said to your mother! You where wrong too! Violence doesn't change anything! It will only come back on you! You could have said something to him right there or else just left it alone! He was wrong in his thinking but who did it hurt! Your mother might have been angry for a little while but she got over it! Don't let what others think and say about you bother you! It is only words!

While you were right to be offended by the Catholic person's remarks to your mother, you were wrong to retalliate by using physical force in beating him up.The Bible says that should anyone slap you on your right cheek you should offer your left.
Violence is not the way to resolve issues, humility and rationality
is the way to go.

Have you ever told the truth in your life??
All your questions are nothing more then lies, and are not even good ones at that.
You need to get an education and do something with your life, or better yet GET A LIFE.

Wow!.........The guy who said that shouldn't have, especially if he was Catholic he should know better. We are not to judge anyone. Nobody is greater then anyone. If it wasn't for Jesus yes we would all go to hell. Only god can make that call. Having said that I feel that we don't always have to settle everything ourselves. Also there is this saying I know " two negative don't equal a positive"

According to the Bible which undoubtedly forms the basis of his beliefs his own actions have condemned him to the very hell he threatened your mother with. How these ignorant shits reconcile this nonsense to their beliefs and manage to avoid recognizing the hypocrisy of it is beyond me.
Even another Christian with an ounce of sense couldn't condone the man's actions if they gave it any real thought.

It shouldn't even be necessary for me to point out the obvious inconsistency and contradiction in the idea of eternal condemnation to hell as this couldn't possibly be the policy of the merciful and loving god I've heard so much about.

As to your question, yes. And I must admit, I think I'm very happy about it too.

For those of you who question the morality of beating this man senseless his actions show that he was senseless to begin with.
Furthermore, I challenge you to find the morality in telling this man's mother she was going to hell.

You could have had him charged for Harassment, loitering, public disturbance, disturbing the peace, an number of minor infractions, that could have deterred him. YOU can be charged with assault and battery, various "Intent" crimes, and you could go to jail for a very very long time. You have just advertised your crime on a major information system. I'd say good luck, but I DON'T WISH YOU ANY..
