Hi,
Hope this helps you out in preventing your dog doing more damage to your lawn.

The problem is the high nitrogen levels in your dogs urine causes the grass to burn and go yellow. There is a product called Dog Rocks which you place in the dogs drinking water.

Dog Rocks is a mineralized rock that changes the dogs nitrogen levels in the urine. The key element in Dog Rocks is "Zeolite" which neutralises nitrogen levels without altering the ph level.

Dog Rock also lowers tin levels in the water while increasing boron, barium, manganese and stronin levels, that is all good for your dog.

Its an Australian product but is now on the market in the USA, UK and NZ.

Not to shaw about the grass growing back.
To stop the dogs urine burning the grass in the future put half a teaspoon of white vinegar in the dogs drinking water. This will counteract the acid in the urine.

No, I had to replant my grass where the dog was peeing. I now have the dog only going in one area of the yard.

Try watering and protecting the burnt grass from further damage. It may be too late and need to be re-seeded. AFTER you re-seeded or re-planted you should get the tablets called Lawn Guard. It helps neutralize the urine and helps protect your grass- and it does work really well!

The best thing to do is prevent it in the first place. When your dog takes care of business, take the hose and water down the spot to dilute the urine.

As for the spots already there, you will need to reseed it I'm afraid.

i would say some grass seed and water but they make a powder you can put on the food so its not a problem in the future. or just a tablespoon/15 lbs. of plain tomato juice/paste/sauce on food-something to do with the acidicy in the tomato counteracting with the ammonia in the urine.

Yes, plant "Tif Green" it is a grass that produces "runners" that will "fill in" any dead spots. The only problem is that "Tif-Green" goes dormant in the winter.
