I think we are the nicest people around. We know where we are going and what we are doing and if you interfere with that, we may get tense, but we are nice and very entertaining. I love being a NYer! You can't generalize. I'm sure there are nasty people in every city. NYers just get a bad rap!

Hey, well new yorkers are usually rude because they live a fast pace life especially in the city; but i'm nice. so now you know at least one person thats nice lol

They were voted nicest people on the planet. And I've been there myself, I must say: New Yorkers understand and put into practice the art of customer service.

Yes, very nice. We are always in a hurry and that can be mistaken for rudeness, but I think overall there is a sense of community where people are willing to help you out in many ways. We were voted the most polite big city in the world this year.

SOHO and the East Village have nice people, up around time square and down by the statue of liberty, not so nice, not bad just not as nice. I don't know about the other 4 parts we never left the island

Depends. If a lonely person like you will bug people with the same question over and over again, so even sweetest perso on this Earth won't be nice to you. Come and see for yourself.

I hate to say this but the people that have accents, can barely speak English, and own restaurants or overpriced "convenience stores" of NY are NOT nice. They're just out to take your money.

Most of the others (except maybe Cabbies..never chose to take a cab) are ok.

It depends, hang out in The village or greenpoint, brooklyn with artsy people and it is more of a welcoming environment. If you hang out in midtown during rush hour people will knock you over w/o a glance.
