A company is hiring for entry level help. I want to apply, but I have a hearing condition. I want to know if it the machinery is loud to work around. Thanks.

Yup.

Use hearing protection. A good employer will insist on it, as does OSHA if in U.S.

It depends on whether the rig is completed, or if they are still drilling. Once production has begun, it is fairly quiet. On offshore rigs, there really are few machines....remember oil and gas are under pressure so pumps are not needed and in fact we need to reduce pressure in the coalesers...because of the possibility of explosions and fires, few machines are used, but if they are, a license system is used to control danger...and we also use ESD systems

extremely loud, but all workers are given industrial earmuffs, even still, if you have to live on the rig, I would recommend not taking the job, you can't wear those suckers to bed.

yes they are somewhat loud to work around because of the motors running all day while drilling my father workes around them.
