The answer to this is a little complex in my mind. It is not necessarily that he knows the future because if he does, then we have no free will, but we do, he says so in his word. It is that he knows us soooo well that he knows what we will choose. Think of someone whom you know better than anyone. You already have an idea of what they will choose to do in certain situations, but you do not know thier future. Same basic concept!

I go 1 hour into the future. I come back and write down what you will have for dinner. After dinner, you open the envelope. At what point did you lose free will? Or the ability to control your destiny?

Given that you believe "god" has a plan for you and all you do is a part of this plan, then how could you possibly control your own destiny. It is for you do decide whether you control your own destiny, or leave it in "divine" hands.

The bible is a very entertaining book. But that is all it is entertainment.. There is no pre determined path from a higher power. Everything happens in the universe by chance. If you live your life waiting for a higher power to guide you. Then your not really living.. Don’t wait for hocus pocus mumbo jumbo to guide you. Get up and take control of your own life an the course through it..

If god knows everything then how can he not know what the future brings? I believe a person can make choices but they do not control their destiny. We are products of what is out of our control so then where is our control?

If our perception could reach deep enough (beyond sense organs), even we can know all this... future spouse, length of life span, control of destiny etc !

Hmmmm... and you think that if God KNOWS these things that you don't control your own destiny? I don't believe that the two are mutually exclusive...
I believe that both are true.. God already knows AND we control our own destiny.

I am very skeptical on God knowing everyone's future, but if you are a firm believer in God, a Christian will tell you "yes". I find it difficult to believe though.

we have choice about things here on earth. God knows the choices we'll make and regardless of the choice He knows the outcome. we only control what we think about who Jesus is.
