in lots of ways, yes he was right. pain "is weakness leaving body". i know you dont just mean physical pain, but u get the picture. enduring pain makes us stronger, and more appreciative of the good times. with no pain there would be no victory. if there was no victory in life, it would be meaningless, right?

I believe that he was correct. Our pain is the gauge by which we judge the overall scope of our lives. Our knowledge of and experience with pain is what helps us to endure the hard times, to relish the good times, and to be thankful for the fact that we still have some time.

If you never have pain, how could you enjoy the painless times? If you are never sad, how could you enjoy being happy?
If you never leave your house, you will be fairly safe, but you will miss out on many great adventures. Life is meant to be enjoyed, pain and all.
