You'd be amazed what you can accomplish with a little floorspace and a minimal set of free-weights or the rubber-band style things. Basic cardio routines are available online. If you want motivation, you can put an elliptical machine in front of your TV, or even give Dance Dance Revolution a try (it's a surprisingly good cardio workout). Then you can find excersies that use free weights to target specific muscle groups. There are some decent home-workouts. I was fairly impressed with Power-90. But it isn't anything you can't do on your own. I would recommend shooting for 45 minutes a day, and alternate between cardio and weight training. Also, keep the diet under 1500 calories, and eat OFTEN. It keeps the metabolism burning. I shoot for three 300-400 calorie meals with two 100-200 calorie snacks. I try to eat every three hours. Also, try not to eat within three hours of going to bed, it lets your insulin levels fall after dinner so that your body is burning fat while you sleep instead of carbs you just ate. Try to keep 30% of your calories from protein, 30% from carbs, and 10% from fat.

Beyond that, if you really want to lose weight, just don't give up.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss.
