I would do everything I could to protect my family first. Then, when it was all over with and we were safe, yes, I could forgive him. After I called the police.

No. The scripture is referring to an insult. Striking someone on the cheek was considered an insult. You have probably seen a different version of this in old movies when someone would use a glove to slap a person. So the scripture does not mean to sit by while an evil person does harm to you, your family or even to a stranger. It just means to take the insult without trying to retaliate.

We have had to deal with this more than once. It depends on the nature of the threat. First priority is to make sure the children are secure. Second is to try and calm the intruder. When that didn't work, then the individual was confined until help could arrive, when needed.
He had my best friend by the throat. I clothslined the guy, and sat on him until the situation was resolved. I am not a light woman!

No. I don't keep guns in the house, but I do keep a Russian bayonet next to my bed. If baddies want to hurt my babies, they're going to have to get past me first. Don't mess with the mama!
I'm not Christian so I don't have to turn the other cheek.

No, last guy that tried to invade my house kicked the door and got shot 4 times in the chest by my 45 acp. I was nice about it tho, didn't charge his widow for the damaged door or the ammo wasted sending him to hell
