you can try using a product to enhance waves in your hair like fudge skrewd...(i use this).....after you wash you put the product through your hair and then scrunch dry it with a hairdyer....it is better if you use a diffuser.....

Sometimes super straight hair will look bad scrunched. If you try to wet it and add gel it will dry looking stringy and still straight but all seperated. I agree that you should use rollers or a curling iron for a different hair style. The scrunched look is basically for people with wavy or curly hair because most of us need to put gel or mousse in it to control it.

this is what i do.. wash my hair at night, then let the hair dry until its damp- not wet because it will be stringy in the morning. then scrunch hair gel in while your head is upside down. up tie it up on top of your head in a bun. sleep on it and when you take it down in the morning put some hair spary in.

rollers and curling irons definitely, if you try mousse or other product, after you put it in if you scrunch all your hair up and clip it to your head with several big clips and leave them in until your hair is dry or almost dry, that works, at least for me anyways.
