Elaborate for me, if you will.

Mine would be when my father and I took a walk in the local National Forest, and he found for me a piece of wood that a beaver had gnawed. I've had that wood for 37 years.

You said beaver and wood. :)

I would like to go back to 3 months old. I remember my mom holding me in the shower and letting the water hit the back of my head/neck.

I am still sensitive to that feeling. Sometimes I lightly massage the back of my neck to feel comfort when I'm down or need to sleep. That is my earliest memory also.

Hi, Amy. My childhood was pretty rough, and my fondest memories are of thoughts I had. I can clearly recall the first time that my mind was blown away trying to imagine what existed before matter. That is, I had learned or heard that there was nothing, and then all of a sudden there was a big bang, which gave rise to everything. Trying to wrap my little mind around how nothing could have preceded something, and what it must have been like beforehand, was...interesting. I also used to try to imagine what was at the "beginning" and the "end" of the universe. I.e., what was right beyond the edges of space.

I still muse on these things from time to time, but it is not the same as the first time I had conceived of such possibilities. There was a wonderment and innocence back then that is lost today.

This was probably when I was 5. No wonder my life was so strenuous for so long. ;-)

Back in the '80's in Australia there was this TV show called "Young Talent Time" -- about a dozen young teenage kids (and some even a bit younger) would sing, dance, do comedy skits in front of a live studio audience each Saturday night.

My father was one of the camera men working on the show. I was in the audience. One particular night in 1985, Liza Minelli, Sammy Davis Jnr and Frank Sinatra made a 2 minute guest appearance. To impress their Australian audience, they decided to sing "Waltzing Matilda" -- a famous song in Australia - it holds the same reverence for us that "Star Spangled Banner" would for Americans.

Frank Sinatra forgot the words. Liza nervously laughed throughout the song, Sammy Davis Jnr started to 'scat' the song, humming the words. It was a joke. When the song ended, Frank looked up at the audience and said "Only in a dump like Australia would people care about a dancing braud named Matilda. What the f*ck is a Matilda, anyway?"

Classic stuff. He was not invited back. He swore in front of little children, families, grandmothers in the audience.

I would go back to the boy I had a crush on and gave a little love letter too. He replied to it and I was scared as he was too I am sure. Didn't matter our little feelings at the time. It all seems so pathetic, my heart racing out of my chest, not wanting anyone to know what I had done by that letter. I wish I could go back and at the right moment which were many... I wished I had kissed him before he got the letter which was more of a goodbye as he was moving. i was hoping to keep in touch, but as it turned out we did meet up again many years later in our teens to twenties but there was time in betwen we really should have stayed in touch! ( never ever kissed the boy or man)

I think just the innocence and no-worries of childhood would be great to experience again. I don't know about others, but when I was young, I couldn't wait to grow up. Now, as a mom and a wife, I have to admit that there are days when I just think "Doesn't someone want to take care of me??" I feel selfish when I think that, but I guess as kids we never realize how many things are just "taken care of" for us- we have no worries!

Aw thats a really nice memory.

I think mine would be one night it was storming and all the lights went out. My father had a flash light he propped on a table and he hung paper on the wall. The whole family traced each others head and made those shadow things. It was prob the nicest time my whole family was together. We were young.

Being a child at Disneyworld being pushed in a stroller everywhere until it was time to get on a ride. I really miss the 20,000 leagues under the sea ride. They closed that a long time ago.

:) My sister and I and the little girl next door sleeping on the porch with an alarm clock, so we could see our first lunar eclipse. We were all so excited we couldnt sleep. I think I was about 7.

I used to love sleeping outside. Haven't done it in years now. Maybe when my boys are older I can take them camping.

I would love to go back to the time I accepted Christ at the age of nine with the knowledge that I have now. I think that special moment would have given me a more intimate feeling with Christ than it was for my young mind at that time.

My first experience with a woman. Oh, sorry, you said "childhood." Hmmmmm . . . the first 8 years of my life were really great. I could do those again.
