I think swimming is the best one over-all workout. It is cardio, but also tones all your muscles. It helps with breathing and relaxation and posture too, and is never too rough on any of your joints. Get a couple of refresher classes if you need them, so you know you're working out well..

I find that classes at the gyms like aerobics, yoga, step etc are really good. You get a half hour to hour non-stop work out and it usually comes free with your membership. The classes are also good cause all your exercise needs are compacted into the time it takes to complete the class. Personal trainers are expensive but are really good, if you can afford it. If not the classes are a cost effective option.
If you work out without a trainer, or by yourself, it can be hard to really get all the exercise done when its only you motivating yourself.
Also you need to know how to use the machines properly to work out in the gym, but the moves in the classes are demonstrated by the teachers, and they usually will point it out to you if you are doing something wrong.
Another point for the classes would be that the natural range of motions you do in a class can be better for your body then the strange forced motions you'd do on the machines like for example the stairclimber machine is not the equivilent of actually going up stairs, its a different motion etc..

I would first get fitness assessment so you can find out what you really need. Than set some fitness goals. Were do you want to be a month from now. Then three month from now. Then six months from now. Then a year from now. That way you can keep progress report so that way you can adjust it accordingly. Climbing is a great way of getting a great total body workout when was the last time you have seen an out of shape climber. Good luck

I have heard that swimming is the best exercise because you are using every muscle in your body to propel yourself forward.
For me\ and my wife, going to a boxing gym was the best thing ever. Many gyms are not what you are thinking of. They aren't just macho hangouts for boxing hopefuls. My gym had more women than men and you get a true boxing workout without having to get in the ring. So don't let it intimidate you. Don't do one of those boxing Tae Bo, jazzercise classes. That is not what I am talking about. I mean bags, Medicine balls, jump rope and such.
I lost 20 pounds in my first month and my wife lost 15 pounds. It is a great full body workout

I understand desirous to look stunning!! besides you like do stairs. no longer the stair climber, yet certainly stairs for approximately 25 minutes the different day. pass each and each of ways up then each and each of ways down for 25 min. you would be sore the 1st week you do it, whether it truly is somewhat worth it. upload approximately a hundred and fifty crunches the different day(so your muscle groups can relax in between days) and don't overlook to do your crunches. on the day you do stairs, do no longer do crunches. on the day you do crunches walk a minimum of two miles at a brisk %. with ankle weights. shrink out pop thoroughly, sugar thoroughly, devour clean fruit & greens, and drink a good number of water. you will seem smokin' on the social gathering!!
