I get frizzies too. Wash and condition it at night, dry it and go to bed-then in the AM it will be silky and pretty and ready to style. Make sure you rinse-get all the shampoo and conditioner out and off your scalp-that is one of the reasons for itchy scalp.

You don't really need to wash your hair everyday, maybe 2 - 3 times a week tops. To wash it so much strips essential oils from your hair and frizzing it out as a result. If your scalp in itchy, when you do shampoo use a sensitive scalp, dandruff, or rosemary mint kind. Anything that has the anti - itch on the label. Leave it on for about 5 minutes. Also don't use more than about a dime. You don't want to work up a huge lather like on tv, that's overkill unless you've been in a swamp or something and you disturb the balance of your scalp - thus, the itching. Also, be sure to use a conditioner, and rinse with as cold water as you can stand, increases shine and seals in moisture. Be sure to get trims every 8 wks or so to reduce split ends - that reduce the friz and dryness.

Everyone’s hair responds differently to the shampoos and conditioners on the market, as well as your environment and everyday behavior. Do you constantly put your hands in your hair? This can make natural oils in the hair spread or be more noticeable and cause flat or dull/dirty/oily hair. My Aunt is a hairdresser and recommends not washing it everyday, but every other. Blah! I agree depending...but I do the everyday wash. :)

Do you prefer straight by hair dryer and brush? Or curly? Or natural dry strait or natural dry for the wavy curly look?

Frizzy can be reduced when wanting curly/wavy hair by using a curly hair brand, Pantene makes a good one as well as Vive. Though Vive leaves build up, use a clarifying shampoo to strip the gunk. Wash with the shampoo, RINSE THOUROUGHLY, then use the conditioner made for curly, rinse well then wrap a towel to get most of the water out, but let it air dry overnight while sleeping. You will have the best natural looking bouncing soft curls. However, try this over the weekend to see if you like the natural result. Sometimes the pillow can give you a bad up sweep that wont bode well in public. :) I use the Shine anti frizz smoothing liquid sparingly (tiny dot rubbed over palm and fingers, do another dot if not enough) to head off the frizz look. To much and your all goopy looking...yuck. I prefer the BioSilk, smells great, and actually does quite a lot for your hair. Here’s a link http://www.biosilk.com/biosilk/silktherapy/product/st-st.htm

Itching can be a reaction from the shampoo/conditioner product itself or lack or rinsing thoroughly. Use the clarifying shampoo to get the gunk out. I use Pantene. Does well for me.

If you do the strait styled or blown hair dryer look, using a product like the BioSilk (less gunky than Shine brand anti frizz) will help tame it. Though waiting about 10-15 min before playing with you hair after blo drying, can help with the frizz. Your hair was basically stunned with heat and has to relax before you can do much with it. Don't apply frizz stuff till you have let your hair rest if you do blo dry.

You hair brush can have a lot to do with the frizzies. Having a wide flat brush, rubberish base (the part the splines stick out of) and simi-wide spaced splines, non metal. Stay away from plastic and metal.

A lower heat setting for your hair dryer, the ones with option of cool dry is good. Go slow and keep the dryer at a distance, not right on it.

Use a round ceramic or metal (eek I said metal) base for the styling with it, when warm the metal can act like a curling iron for uniform shape thus hairs don't aim in every direction due to frizz. Ceramic does the same. Also choose wide spline spacing and the larger the round brush the straighter the hair, less curve or curl look. Do this with the hair dryer after the hair has rested from being blo dryed strait with first flat brush, (do 1st step with head hanging thus easier chunks and adds volume to shaft).
Do round brush in layers, working with layers to ease frizz/poof look. Then let relax and add stuff or finger through it to calm it.

Not sure if this helps...hope a little of it does...

You need to find an oil to treat your hair with. I have the exact same kind if hair (only mine is longer and blonde). I use coconut oil (some people cook with it) and treat my hair with a tiny bit rubbed between my palms and smoothed over the poufy parts only. Experiment at home, before you shower, until you get the amount down or you will look like you have greasy hair.

Other good hair oils (besides my favorite coconiut oil) include jojoba oil, sesame seed oil, and grapeseed oil. These will give you day-old hair right after the shower, without any of the itch.

ok i suggest washing it once, no repeat and condition the length of your hair only, not your scalp. leave the condition in for 2 or 3 min then rinse and style like normal. Good Luck!

Find the right shampoo for you, and also very important, conditioner.

Try to wash your hair at least every other day, and when you do it, go deep.

Don't get caught up in the vicious cycle of rinse, lather, repeat. Stop after two - I cannot stress this point enough.
