Am sure this has been brought many times, so it's my turn.
Kill: raw-tsakh: a prime root, to dash into pieces, i.e.kill a human being, espec. TO MURDER.
Ask any intelligent Sunday School kid what was the 6th commandment, and they will answer..Thou shall not commit Murder.
Thanks to the translators of the Hebrew, we now have this argument about..."why does the bible say thou shall not kill, yet God tells the Hebrews to kill their enemies".
So, do you agree that it was Murder and not Kill?

Absolutely believe you are correct. I don't think God is against war - that is killing. He is against murder - which is totally different.

Yes, I agree that it was Murder.
The mistake happened when one of Jesus's requests was taken to far. He said to " Speak Plainly" which to some people with good intentions means " Use the simplest terms possible ". So " Murder " becomes " kill ".
Argument supporting " Murder " Translation.
There are time when Allah does allow Killing. It's under the very strict rules of the Jihad. No, I'm not talking about the psychos waging a ' Holy war ' again the US. It's kind of like a Geneva Convention of Biblical times.
A very nice Muslim sent me a link explaining to me what a the rules of the Jihad are, in terms of military conduct. Here are a few examples:
don't kill civilians
Don't kill women
Don't kill children
When you have taken a prisoner, treat him as one of your own.
You you can clearly see that the 9-11 incident was not conducted by Muslim, no more than Salem Witch trials was done by Christians,

read the book again, thou shall not murder means to premeditate killing someone. manslaughter is accidental death without malice. War involves killing. God sanctions killing in that context. He even told them to kill the woman, children and animals too! God is for life. that is why He sent His son. try a word study to get more insight about His view.

many words have different meanings when translated 3 or 4 times. For instance virgin and unmarried woman mean the same thing in both hebrew and ancient greek. Makes one wonder a little..

The "thou shall not kill" is a translation based on Tyndales work as published from the 1611 King James Bible.
It, however, is NOT accurate.
"You shall not murder" is a more accurate translation
