6 months to a year, for the freshest taste possible. Some spices don't change much. My Mother had some of hers for 20 years & we couldn't tell the difference. Probably because we didn't know the difference, as most of the food on our table came out of a can or a box! I prefer mine freshly picked from the garden! Once you taste the difference, you'll NEVER go back to buying them off the shelf of a grocery store!

if you put the spices in proper spices rack, and then keep them in a dry cool area then they should even last for years.
