To be safe i would continue to use the Sony batteries. From my experience, i used the so called X brand and one popular brand for my camera. The result was terrible. I took one picture and the battery life was low after that. I tried again and the result was the same. I asked a computer guy what i could be doing wrong and he said must be the batteries. I thought he did not understand the question, so i repeated it and he said use a good brand batteries. I went to the store and bought the most common and popular brand and sure enough, the camera worked properly once again. So, yes, stick to the same brand and don't mix.
