Red tides is the symptom when certain algae or zooplanktons boom in poplulations. When certain conditions in the ocean and weather provide the optimal condition for them to reproduce massively and densely that they change the color of the ocean water.

Some species of the algae or zoonplanktons were red or brownish in color. With so many of them in the water, the sea turned into different color. You can always observe that. It is not an uncommon event.

Certain species of th algae or zoonplanktons has certain toxin to it. When the red tide occurs, it is best to stay out of the water and do not eat the shell fish or fish in that area for a short period of time.
