Girl those first two comments are off the wall, I know what you mean by bouncy but maybe you can get more responses by saying "adding body" to your hair. I can't really answer your question bc I can't figure that out myself, the only thing that I can say is go to the beauty shop bc that is what I do, I can't really seem to figure it out and I don't what they do at the beauty shop that's so different from what I do. Well best of luck, and email me if you figure it out.

Hey girl. I wanted the same thing. My aunt is a professional hair stylist, and what she did was relax my hair w/ "Motions" regular formula hair relaxer. It also comes in Super and Mild, depending on the texture of your hair. If you don't know it, it's a yellow bottle w/purple text, and "Motions" is a whole line of products: shampoos, conditioners, critical hair repair creams, hairsprays, styling gels, you name it. It also has a neutralizing shampoo for after you relax your hair.

A relaxer isn't a full perm, however; it's a lot less damaging, but still gets the job done. What it does is permanently knock out the frizz, so after you wash your hair, it's simply wavy and falls towards your shoulders instead of turning into an afro. But you still have to press or flat-iron it after it's dry to straighten it (you can let it dry by itself, but I find that blowdrying it works best because you get the roots straight as well, and it makes the pressing/flat-ironing process go much faster!)

And the best part is: the press/flat-iron doesn't sweat out anymore! It lasts until you wash your hair again. And you don't have to worry about water anymore: it won't frizz! It'll just fall, or at worst, turn wavy.

One more note: your hair won't really "bounce" if it's straight. You only get that bounce w/curls. But this process does make for some fantastic curls! The trick is to get it straight first, THEN curl it! And "Motions" has great curling agents as well.

WORD OF CAUTION: I don't suggest you relax your hair yourself. GO TO A HAIR SALON FOR THE RELAXER! But other than that, you can do everything else yourself. And you don't have to use "Motions" either. There are plenty others. I just happen to love Motions. But experiment and find one that suits you best.

So have fun, but be careful! Good luck!

You might want to consider getting a relaxer or a perm. But if you want to go natural, then press your hair with the hot comb or flat iron it.
