Honey sometimes after we have teeth filled it will be sensitive for a few days after wards and cold water is one of the worst pains on it. I wouldn't worry about another cavity or they would have told you about it, you just had them filled today and you said that they cleaned them too so they are gonna be sensitive. Don't worry they will feel better in a few days, so don't panic alright. Good Luck and whatever you do don't use oil of clove on it that is what the dentist does and it can burn the skin around your tooth. I say this because I am going through a dry socket now from a tooth that I had pulled two weeks ago that stuff can burn do not use it.

You don't have another cavity or your dentist would have told you and then they would have filled the cavity or made an appointment to fill it. Sensitivity is very common after a filling. Usually the feeling will go away in 48 hours. If not call your dentist..and also use some sensitivity toothpaste. The stuff in the pink box, Colgate(I think) works pretty good.
Good luck and for a short time...stay away from very hot or very cold foods.

Best case: New fillings can be sensitive to cold for a couple of weeks. This usually goes away. If not, see "Worst Case."
Worst case: You may need to have the new filling removed and have the cavity lined with a base.
Worst worst case: There might be a pulp exposure that was not diagnosed at the time the filling was placed. You might end up needing the nerve removed from the tooth.

You will have to see the doctor again. Yu have no choice. I used a cold water soak with a small amount of salt which helped me but not anyone else I know of, (doctors will put cold water on burn victims until they can get treatment and it helps ease the pain(exposed nerves). it worked for me with my abcessed tooth. hurt like crazy the first 20 seconds but worked than.
You should be able to get a botle of numbs or a bottle of oil of cloves at any drug store or walmarts.Oil of cloves works well tempory until you can see a doctor.

One filling maybe deeper then the other and it might take it a few days to settle down. If it continues don't hesitate to call the dentist and let them know what is happening.

It's most likely that your gums are sore--they often are after dental procedures. Give it a few days. Use mouth rinses to keep your mouth clean--some mouthwash or some salt water. Give it a few days to settle down before you make another appointment

Go back to your dentist. I can't diagnose this without looking at it and I still might not get it right because I'm not a dentist.

Your teeth will probably be sensitive for a while. Call your dentist anyway, no harm in asking.
